FAQs
Can I use the report to exit the contract of sale?
Our reports are completed in accordance with current Australian Standards, recognised by real estate agents and lawyers/conveyancers. This means that should you wish to exit the contract based on the findings of the inspection, you can do so. You can find more information on how to terminate the contact under a building and pest condition here.
Will you tell me whether I should buy the house or not?
Our inspectors cannot advise you on whether the house is a suitable purchase for you or not. Everyone's situation is different and what may be a great investment for one person may not be the next. Our reports are designed to give you enough information about the property for you to feel confident you're making an informed decision.
How much are the repairs going to cost?
In the report, you'll discover recommendations for addressing each defect, accompanied by information on the specific trade needed to carry out the repair work. For accurate cost estimates, we recommend reaching out directly to the relevant trade professionals. Due to ongoing changes within the building industry, our inspectors are unable to provide cost estimates on repairs.
Can I share the report?
You're welcome to share the report with whomever you'd like such as your solicitor, mortgage broker or conveyencer. We recommend that don't hand over the report to the real estate agent as they may be tempted to share it with other buyers should you decide not to go ahead with the property. This can be detrimental to the new buyer because as the report is not in their name, they will have no legal recourse should they rely on the report. We can offer to re-sell the report to the new buyer upon request, provided it's within 4 weeks of the report date.
